In 2021, the Finnish Nature Photograph of the Year competition was held for the 41st time. A total of 13,110 photos were submitted by 826 different photographers. The photographs competed in eight different series, as well as a youth series.

Pekka Tuuri’s “Liskomies” (“Lizard Man”) was chosen as the Nature Photograph of the Year 2021. Pekka Tuuri is the fifth photographer in the competition’s history who has managed to renew his victory. The jury was fascinated by the victorious underwater photograph’s exotic situation and atmosphere. The winning photograph is a breathtaking snapshot that differs from usual perspectives.

In addition to the Nature Photograph of the Year, the series’ winners and other awarded photographs will be displayed at Vaprikki.
